WH Smith decision - a campaign win!
Wednesday, 14 November 2012
Following our strong campaign we hear reports that WH Smith has retracted its policy on u14s and shooting titles. Thousands of you took action and wrote to the company, making your views clear that shooting titles are appropriate for all ages without prejudice. You recall that the company's policy included a till prompt at WH Smith stores, asking the cashier to check that anyone buying a shooting title was 14 or over. This till prompt has now, we believe, been removed. This is a victory for common sense and we are gratified that all ages can now continue to enjoy our shooting titles. Sporting titles have a long and distinguished history in the UK; many of us have grown up reading them and they continue to have a role to play in encouraging, informing and delighting youngsters.
