East - news:Newmarket Countryside Alliance Race Day 2013Friday, 30 November 2012 On Friday 7th June 2013 we will be repeating the huge success of the Newmarket Countryside Alliance Race Day on the attractive and historic July Course. The £60 ticket will include entry to the Course, complimentary Race Card, reception and lunch as well as two bottles of wine per table of ten . Lunch will again be held in the Moorstyle Marquee. During the day we will be holding the Charity Race between Masters and Huntsmen – won last year by Will Spencer of the Pytchley, as well as a silent auction and a main auction which will be held during lunch. Notts & Lincs duo shatter record on US Cycle rideWednesday, 17 October 2012 Two friends have shattered a world record by cycling down and then across America, raising thousands of pounds for a forces charity in the process. The Countryside Alliance is delighted to congratulate Will Loxton of Colston Bassett in Nottinghamshire, whose father is a Countryside Alliance member, and Christian Layton-Hannam, of Spalding in Lincolnshire. The boys covered nearly 5,000 miles by cycling from north to south America and then west to east and beat the record by 5 days and all for SSAFA charity.
