Newmarket Countryside Alliance Race Day 2013

On Friday 7th June 2013 we will be repeating the huge success of the Newmarket Countryside Alliance Race Day on the attractive and historic July Course. The £60 ticket will include entry to the Course, complimentary Race Card, reception and lunch as well as two bottles of wine per table of ten . Lunch will again be held in the Moorstyle Marquee. During the day we will be holding the Charity Race between Masters and Huntsmen – won last year by Will Spencer of the Pytchley, as well as a silent auction and a main auction which will be held during lunch. Read on to find out who will be contesting the race in 2013 - and for the chance to sponsor them. 
We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us on this special day of racing being held at the country’s most famous Race Course.

Additional Funding for Wild Deer Management in the East of England

Do you need financial help to improve your deer management and to get high quality venison into the food chain? The Deer Initiative’s Wild Venison Project in the East of England has recently received a funding boost...apply now before it is too late. The East of England Wild Venison Project has been active since October 2010. The project is set up to provide up to 40% match funding to support deer management in the six counties of the East of England (Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Herts, Cambs, and Beds).

Natural England has a statutory duty to undertake by March 2013 a review of the coastal access Scheme, which is its methodology for the coastal access programme under part 9 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. Natural England is offering an opportunity for informal input from organisations and individuals. Views should be directed to Natural England.

Notts & Lincs duo shatter record on US Cycle ride

Two friends have shattered a world record by cycling down and then across America, raising thousands of pounds for a forces charity in the process. The Countryside Alliance is delighted to congratulate Will Loxton of Colston Bassett in Nottinghamshire, whose father is a Countryside Alliance member, and Christian Layton-Hannam, of Spalding in Lincolnshire. The boys covered nearly 5,000 miles by cycling from north to south America and then west to east and beat the record by 5 days and all for SSAFA charity.
