Castaway is a one-day fishing therapy course for young adults aged 18 and over who are recovering from cancer.

Experienced fishing instructors encourage participants through fly and coarse fishing with the twin aims of enjoying a chilled day by the water and also learning new skills and making friends. The project is run by The Countryside Alliance Foundation having been thought up by an oncology nurse who has seen first-hand the positive effects fishing can have in moving forward from cancer. More information is available here.

The first Castaway event will take place on Friday 13th October at the Sportfish Game Fishing Centre, Theale and is supported by leading fishing and country clothing retailer, Farlows.
