We had a huge amount of entries into our ‘Autumn In Action’ photography competition sponsored by Harkila and we would just like to say a huge thank you to all those who took the time to enter and participated with their fabulous photo shots. We are very pleased to announce that we have chosen our winner. Congratulations goes to Robert Booth for his stunning ‘Deer amongst the Autumn leaves’ photograph.  Robert has won himself an incredible prize from our competition partner, Harkila – a Harkila Avan Jacket and a Sandhem Waistcoat. The photograph will also be showcased in the next edition of My Countryside Magazine.

Name: Robert Booth
Description: ‘Deer amongst the Autumn leaves.’ The image is of part of a herd of fallow deer that roam freely in the deer park in the grounds of Calke Abbey, Ticknall, Derbyshire. Calke Abbey is owned by the national trust and its deer park spans 67 acres of parkland. I was visiting Calke as it was the rutting season so I was looking to get some pictures of the red and fallow stags strutting their stuff. I spotted this small group of fallow deer in the distance and just loved how they blended in with the colours of the autumn leaves on the trees and just had to grab a few images.

A ginormous congratulations also goes to our runner-up, Laura Kolbach, for her fantastic photograph.

Name:  Laura Kolbach
Description: ‘Taken during an Autumn walk, picturing one of my dogs, Neita.’

Do keep your eyes peeled on our website for the next photography competition and you could be seeing your photograph in the next edition of our magazine.
