The Warwickshire Hunt's 'Auction of Promises' delivers big donation to local charity

As long-time supporters of Shipston Home Nursing, the Warwickshire Hunt were delighted to present the local charity with a cheque for £1500 from their Auction of Promises that was held earlier in the year.

The auction, organised by new joint-master Alix Speir, sold a wide variety of lots offered by hunt supporters ranging from bales of hay through to an evening glamping. It was very well attended with all present bidding enthusiastically, understanding the importance of raising as much money as possible.

"This charity is very close to our hearts and extremely important to our rural community, so we were glad to help them in this small way," explained hunt chairman Sam Butler. "Charities are finding it very difficult at present so it was incredibly rewarding to send them this cheque."

Rebecca Mawle from Shipston Home Nursing said: "Shipston Home Nursing are absolutely delighted with this wonderful donation of £1500 from the Warwickshire Hunt. These are testing times with no fundraising events, so this generous donation is very timely. Our Nurses continue their excellent 'Hospice at Home' service, free of charge, to the community who need palliative nursing care. Once again our grateful thanks to you all."

Many hunts across the country get involved in similar acts of goodwill and fundraising, and we are proud that hunt supporters are able to contribute to those doing such great work."
