Financial help and rights
It’s an anxious and upsetting time for many of us and while the primary concern is the health of our families and communities, our financial wellbeing is also important. If you’re worried about paying the mortgage or rent, about debt and credit cards or how sick pay and benefits will work, we recommend you visit the Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert website. He is a well-respected financial journalist and many of you will know him from his work with the BBC. These pages are being constantly updated and you can sign up for his newsletter too.
Additional key information
You can find additional key information listed on the left hand side (desktop) or in the drop down menu above (mobile devices). From clear signposting to the relevant information from Government and other essential services, to ideas on how to support your own community, our hub will give you the opportunity to share your ideas and connect with others around you at a time when isolation and lonliness are rife.
You can also visit our new website Community Cheer - a brand new resource featuring positive stories and updates from communities up and down the country. We will be highlighting local stories, as well as featuring book reviews, ideas for activities and other useful tips for coping with quarantine. Remember, you are not alone.
It is important to note that with the fast-moving nature of the current situation, we will try our best to keep you informed on the most up-to-date news that becomes available but people should be aware of the time stamps of any news and/or stories that they read both online and in print.
