New RSPCA CEO announced

Written by Countryside Alliance | 24 March 2016

Third Sector reports: "The RSPCA has appointed Jeremy Cooper as its new chief executive, ending a period of more than two years without a permanent leader. Cooper, who will take up the role in April, has been promoted from director of corporate development at the charity, a position he took up in January. Cooper spent three years before that as chief executive of RSPCA Assured, the RSPCA's ethical food label." More here.

Countryside Alliance Chief Executive Tim Bonner comments: "Jeremy Cooper has a huge job ahead of him and we wish him every success in refocussing the organisation on its core roles of improving animal welfare and rescuing those animals that are suffering. It will not be easy to rebuild confidence in the charity after the damage the extreme agenda of his predecessors has done to its reputation but if he can keep the RSPCA focussed on real animal welfare issues he will have everyone's full support."
