Our brief on lead ammunition

Written by Countryside Alliance | 8 December 2015

On Tuesday 8 December MPs took part in an hour long debate in Westminster Hall on the future of lead ammunition. The debate was proposed by Labour MP Gerald Jones and was designed to increase pressure on the Government to ban or further restrict the use of lead shot.

The lead ammunition debate is not a new one as many MPs pointed out during the debate but the Government has been under pressure to act since the Lead Ammunition Group (LAG) submitted their report to DEFRA in June which is widely known to recommend a ban on lead ammunition.
