Running for Repeal

Written by Countryside Alliance | 19 March 2015

Big congratulations are due to the Countryside Alliance's London Marathon team, who all completed Sunday's race.

Fastest was serving cavalry officer Capt Jeremy Sudlow of the Blues and Royals, who finished in 3hrs 9mins, closely followed by farm manager Davina Greenwell (pictured) at 3hrs 30mins and Sharon Baldwin, who is racing secretary to Fergal O'Brian, who finished in 3hrs 55mins.

Portman hunt pair – joint-master Charlie Gundry and kennel huntsman Thomas Baker - achieved 4hrs 40mins and 4hrs 10mins respectively.

And fishing and shooting coordinator for Roxton's Sporting, Hannah Treliving, finished in 5hrs 20mins, followed by A-level student Emily Acland in 6hrs 1min.

Countryside Alliance executive chairman Barney White-Spunner said: "We are immensely grateful to the brave and generous volunteers who sign up to run the Marathon for us each year. It's a hell of an undertaking and it was a hot day this year so we are relieved that they all finished safe and well.

"Donations are still trickling in but if you have not yet, please consider sponsoring these amazing people who were running for repeal and help us hit our £20,000 target."
