Rural Heroes to be recognised

Written by Countryside Alliance | 16 May 2021

You will have seen across our social media channels and in various newsletters that we have been running a new campaign over the past couple of months which aims to highlight those who have gone above and beyond for others during the COVID-19 pandemic. The circumstances of the past year have changed how we live and how we work but more importantly, these circumstances have brought our communities together.

During this time, people up and down the country have been helping our most vulnerable. Whether they have delivered shopping, organised food parcels, kept the community together with socially distanced street workouts, or simply put a smile on our faces, these unsung heroes have contributed their own time and effort for the good of others, and their communities.

We launched Rural Heroes as a platform for us all to say thank you to those who have gone the extra mile and for keeping so many of us going through the difficult times. By nature, our Rural Heroes are focussed on the needs of others and won't expect praise – nor even thanks – so, it is thanks to you all for nominating them and acknowledging their efforts.

We received a number of nominations praising both individuals and groups for their selfless acts over the past 14 months and we will be contacting the nominees in the coming weeks to inform them of your recognition for their hard work.
