Countryside Action: Respond to consultation on hunting with dogs in Scotland

Written by Countryside Alliance | 7 April 2022

The Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill has entered the Committee Stage and is now being examined by The Rural Affairs, Islands and Natural Environment (RAINE) Committee, who have published two public surveys to gather further evidence on matters related to the Bill.

The Committee is seeking views in the form of a short survey and a more detailed call for evidence for stakeholders. We are encouraging everyone in Scotland who is involved in wildlife management to respond to the short survey, sharing your knowledge and experience.

The Countryside Alliance will be responding to the more detailed call for evidence and will publish our submission soon.

To assist you in responding to the short survey, we have put together a guide and suggested answers to help you which you can view here. To take part in the short survey, click here.

The consultation closes on 13 May 2022.

We continue to lobby MSPs and are confident that positive progress is being made. We look to build relationships with MSPs and offer support via an industry-wide Licensing Working Group that is chaired by the Scottish Country Alliance.

The only way we will come out of this with a workable and fair solution is by working together and having one voice. You can add yours by completing the short survey before the 13th May.
