The Great Outdoors' Photography Competition sponsored by ZEISS - winner and finalists

Written by Countryside Alliance | 5 September 2017

We had a huge response to The Great Outdoors' Photography Competition sponsored by ZEISS so thank you to all who took the time to enter.

It was an incredibly difficult competition to judge and the calibre of entries was extremely high. However our panel of judges took to the challenge and scoured through the huge amount of brilliant entries in search of original photographs that showed a true view of 'The Great Outdoors,' whether that was a countryside landscape or an inspirational image that you loved.

We are very pleased to announce that after much deliberation we chose our winner. A ginormous congratulations to Emily Garthwaite for her stunning photograph which was taken in Frensham, Surrey on a winter morning. The photo was shot with a Leica M240 and Zeiss 35mm f/2 lens and the idea around her work was to shine a light on rural life in the UK.

Emily has won a pair of ZEISS Terra ED 8 x 42 compact binoculars and her photograph will be featuring in the autumn issue of My Countryside magazine which is due to land on doorsteps of Countryside Alliance members on 8th September onward.

Competition finalists.....

Description: An amazing sunset over the rural location in Somerset. The farmers were literally bailing behind me as I took this picture.

2. Photograph by Mark Clayton Photography

Description: 'Into the night!' Combining Winter Barley in Nottinghamshire , one evening as dusk fell I waited until lights of the combine came on and then using my Dji phantom 3 drone professional I took this overhead shot, it was a different perspective of what you can see from the ground!

3. Photograph by Rob Bates Photography

Description: The stunning Mam Tor winding road, located just above Castleton in the Peak District, Derbyshire, U.K

4. Photograph by Norman Robinson

6. Photograph by Anthony Cooper

Description: On my way down to the beach at 6am on an early August morning going lure fishing for bass. Beautiful start to the day and I caught over 20 bass on surface lures too.
