The Spectator: "Ten years after the ban, why are there still hunt saboteurs?"

Written by Countryside Alliance | 17 March 2015

Spectator journalist Camilla Swift has spoken to our animal welfare consultant, Jim Barrington, about the hunting debate and wildlife management. In "Ten years after the ban, why are there still hunt saboteurs?" Camilla writes "It's clearly not about animal welfare. But then it never was".

Jim's journey from Director of the League Against Cruel Sports through to being our animal welfare consultant is explained: "A hunting ban was their absolute aim, and any examination of whether it was in fact good for animals was shouted down. He had joined to improve animal welfare, but it became clear to him that the ban and animal welfare were two different things. That's something that the League continues to ignore today."
