The Times' Dominic Kennedy this week reported: "'Toxic' RSPCA in crisis as hunt for leader resumes". The piece observed: "The Charity Commission is being urged to intervene in a growing leadership crisis in the RSPCA after its 21-month hunt for a new chief executive ended in failure.

"Simon Hart, a Conservative MP, wrote last night to William Shawcross, chairman of the regulator, asking how much longer the RSPCA could be allowed to remain without a permanent head and what further action could be taken. A senior trustee has been placed in temporary charge." Read the full story here (NB The Times operates a paywall for its content).
