Watch BBC Countryfile, which featured presenter Anita Rani's visit to a Casting for Recovery session on the River Itchen

BBC Countryfile (on 9 June) featured a report from our Casting for Recovery project. Watch here.

Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland (CfRUK&I) takes ladies with or who have had breast cancer away for retreat weekends filled with the healing activity of fly-fishing.

Countryfile presenter Anita Rani visited the River Itchen to join former retreat attendees Gina Espinosa, Noake Akiba, Debbie Wyatt, Nancy Baker for a mindfulness session with counsellor Kirsty Williams and a fly-fishing session with CfR volunteers Keith Passant, Sally Ann Iles, Richard Banbury, Rachael Brady and Sally Pizii.

CfR coordinator Sue Shaw said: "It was a fabulous – if a little exhausting – experience. We even managed to get Anita into a CfR cap for her fishing lesson! I'm really looking forward to how it all comes over on screen."
