Protecting the future of the countryside: Leave a gift in your will

Written by Countryside Alliance | Jan 12, 2026 12:30:00 PM

The Countryside Alliance's Chief Executive, Tim Bonner, urges you to support the next generation to fight for our way of life with a gift in your will.

The rural way of life is under threat, but you, our members and supporters, give us the strength and resolve to campaign for the future of the countryside. We influence politics through fierce campaigning and intelligent intervention and remain steadfast in defence of every part of the rural community. None of this would be possible without your support.

A future under threat

Our responsibility is not only to protect the countryside today but to secure its future. Without the generosity of those who choose to leave a gift in their will, key initiatives – from fighting the ban on trail hunting to defending family farms – could be at risk. A gift in your will safeguards the countryside you care about and the opportunities it provides, ensuring your values are carried forward into the future.

When people leave a gift to the Countryside Alliance in their will, it is often about passing on a love of the countryside and the traditions that shaped their lives. Without these gifts, initiatives like our flagship Fishing for Schools programme could not exist. Inspiring young people is one part of the picture. Defending the countryside they inherit is just as vital.

Together, we can protect our way of life and the opportunities it provides for generations to come. Thank you for supporting our work now and for helping to secure its future.

If you have already included the Countryside Alliance in your will, we would love to hear from you so we can thank you personally.
