New protection levels approach coming in 2nd November (Scotland)

Written by Countryside Alliance | 22 October 2020

Today, 23 October, the Scottish Government have announced a strategic framework to combat COVID-19.

The Scottish Government have designed a levels-based approach of protective measures to: "Suppress the virus to the lowest possible level." The approach is to allow the Scottish Government to: "To respond on a national basis if required, but also to avoid a 'one size fits all' approach if it is not."

The new Framework (see annex 1 and 2) outlines what restrictions are in place with regards to each protection level. These relate to all activities outside of the home, including sporting activities, travel and hospitality.

Levels are still in draft form, but are expected to be finalised by the time they come into effect on 2 November 2020.
