Ladies with breast cancer invited to free fly-fishing therapy weekend in Skipton

Ladies who have (or have had) breast cancer are invited to apply to join a free flyfishing retreat at the beautiful The Coniston Hotel Spa and Country Estate in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

The retreat, to be held from 26-28 April, is being hosted by Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland, the charitable project run The Countryside Alliance Foundation. Casting for Recovery is a unique outdoor programme specifically designed to help ladies with breast cancer move forward from their illness, make new friends and learn a new skill. It fuses counselling and medical support with fly fishing to offer a balanced and complementary therapy.

Casting for Recovery has been in operation for twelve years and has supported hundreds of ladies as they move on from their illness. This will be the programme's 49th retreat and the first of six to be held during 2019 (see other dates below).

Retreat coordinator Sue Shaw said: "Skipton is always a popular retreat as it is such a beautiful location and as residents for two days the ladies have use of the spa facilities and infinity pool at the hotel. They always look after us really well at the Coniston and we are hoping for great weather and good fishing."

Applications for the Skipton retreat are open until 28 February. To apply, please click here.
