BBC equestrian commentator and former eventer Mike Tucker died suddenly at the age of 73 on 28th March 2018.
Mike was a member of the FEI eventing committee, a steward for Cheltenham and field master for the Duke of Beaufort's hounds. Mike was a big member of the Cotswold farming community for many years and will be very sadly missed. More than that, he was a loving and devoted family man.
The Countryside Alliance commented: "From a farming background, Mike had a wealth of experience and lifetime involvement in the world of equestrian sport, he was passionate about the countryside and country sports and for so many of us synonymous with commentary of BBC Equestrian Sports coverage but namely The Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials. He was a man who worked hard his whole life, was a true professional in everything but always had a great sense of humour and a story to tell and who was hugely respected by everyone. He will be sadly missed in Badminton circles and in the wider equestrian world."
