Gamekeepers improvise to show their support for the NHS

Isolated rural households across the North York Moors are using an innovative method to show their support for the NHS. Many streets across the region take part in the weekly clap for the NHS on a Thursday night, but for rural residents, their support falls on deaf ears.

With this in mind, gamekeepers and their families in the North York Moors decided to do something that would make more of an impact than simply clapping, by taking part in Horn for Heroes. They and their children now blow shooting horns on a Thursday night, making a sound that echoes across the moors for everyone to hear.

Tina Brough of the North Yorkshire Moors Moorland Association said: "The NHS and key workers all across the country are doing an amazing job, and we wanted to show our appreciation. We thought we'd increase the chance of our neighbours hearing us by using some specialist 'keeper' equipment."
