Who will lead Labour away from the war on the countryside?

There has been an increasingly toxic atmosphere between Labour and the countryside in recent years, creating a deep divide between Cardiff Bay and rural Wales.

Jeremy Miles and Vaughan Gething are standing for the Labour leadership here in Wales, and the successful candidate will also become our new First Minister. This is an opportunity for Labour to reset its relationship with the countryside. We need you to contact both candidates to ask them to support rural Wales.

Our countryside has never been so fragile, and it has never been more important to have a government that understands, listens, and respects rural communities. The issues are there in black and white, such as the new Sustainable Farming Scheme, plans to ban game shooting through the back door, and Natural Resources Wales’s continued purchasing of productive farmland to fulfil its tree planting agenda, which threatens food security.

The disconnect between the rural way of life and the Welsh Government means people feel their voices are ignored. NOW is your chance to make your voice heard.
