On 4 July the politics of the countryside was transformed. Labour swept to power with a huge majority and hundreds of new Labour and Liberal Democrat MPs were elected in rural constituencies.

The Alliance has been working for years to influence the approach of all political parties to the countryside, but this new political reality brings huge new challenges.
