Refer a Friend Terms and Conditions

Countryside Alliance and associated brands is a trading name of The Countryside Alliance Foundation, a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity No. 1121034). This website, associated pages, and the services provided by the Countryside Alliance are subject to the following Terms of Use. The Countryside Alliance reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. By continuing to use the website and services after any changes, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.

Who can refer a friend?

The Scheme is open to current Countryside Alliance single members (with or without equine membership) who hold a continuous membership at the time of referral.

The Scheme is available to UK residents only. Members based in Northern Ireland, the European Union, or the rest of the world are not eligible to participate.

Membership must be live and active at the point the referred friend joins for the referral to qualify.

How do I refer a friend?

Eligible members will receive a unique referral code made up of the campaign code and their individual account code (for example, RAF001-123456).

This unique code should be shared directly with the friend the member wishes to refer.

The referred friend must use the unique code as a promotion code when taking out their membership — either online at shop.countryside-alliance.org or by telephone.

Who can be referred?

The referred friend (the "Referee") must take out a new continuous single membership (with or without equine) for the referral to qualify. No other membership type will activate the reward.

The Referee must not hold a current active Countryside Alliance membership at the time of joining under this Scheme.

The Referee discount of £12 will be applied automatically to their qualifying membership order.

What rewards are available?

For the Referee

The Referee will receive a £12 discount applied directly to their new qualifying membership order.

For the Referrer

The Referrer will receive a £12 discount applied to their next renewal order, subject to the conditions below.

If the Referee takes out an annual continuous membership, the Referrer's £12 discount will be applied to their next renewal order once the Referee's membership is confirmed.

If the Referee takes out a monthly continuous membership, the Referrer's £12 discount will be applied to their next renewal order once the Referee has made three consecutive monthly payments equivalent to their annual membership fee.

The discount will be applied to the Invoice Contact on the Referrer's membership, as this is the individual responsible for payment.

How is the scheme structured?

This is a 1:1 scheme. Each successful referral generates one reward for the Referrer, regardless of how many friends are referred.

There is no tiered or points-based reward system under the current scheme.

Rewards are non-transferable and have no cash value.

What happens if a membership is cancelled?

6.1 Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the Referee has a statutory right to cancel their membership within 14 days of joining (the "cooling-off period"). Referral rewards will not vest for either party until the Referee's cooling-off period has expired and their first payment has been successfully processed.

6.2 If the Referee cancels their membership within the cooling-off period, the referral will be treated as void. No reward will be issued to either party and any discount already applied to the Referee's order will be reversed or recovered.

6.3 If the Referee cancels their membership after the cooling-off period has expired, the referral will be treated as having completed. The Referrer's reward will be honoured at their next renewal, subject to clause 6.4.

6.4 If the Referrer's membership lapses or is cancelled before their renewal discount is applied, the discount will be forfeited. It will not be reinstated if the Referrer subsequently rejoins.

6.5 For Referees on a monthly continuous membership, the cooling-off provisions in clauses 6.1 and 6.2 apply to the initial joining only. The three-payment threshold in clause 4.4 is a separate condition and runs from the end of the cooling-off period.
