Enter our fabulous new draw for your chance to win an exceptional day’s shooting for up to ten guns on this outstanding Norfolk estate.
Steeped in history and widely believed to be the birthplace of driven game shooting, Holkham is set within one of North Norfolk’s most remarkable landscapes. It is among the finest shoots in the country, and one that takes enormous pride in its outstanding conservation practices.
A day’s shooting at Holkham is an extremely special experience for those lucky enough to be taking part, and we are enormously grateful to the Earl of Leicester for so generously donating this 175-bird day to the Countryside Alliance. The bag is dependent on skill levels of the guns, a good team shooting more whereas a less experienced team may shoot less! All proceeds from the sale of tickets will go towards the work of the Campaign for Shooting.
The shoot is laid out over 16,000 of the estate’s 25,000 acres, the landscape of which has been shaped and cared for by generations of the Coke family, whose home it has been for over 400 years. Shoot days follow longstanding traditions, featuring exceptional attention to detail, with keepers wearing ‘Coke’ hats, or bowlers as they are now more commonly known, which have been worn since 1849 when first commissioned by Thomas Coke, Second Earl of Leicester, to protect him from low level branches whilst out riding.
The lucky winner and their guests will shoot six drives during the day, with a mixture of pheasant and red-legged partridge, and a combination of wild and released game. Taking in the estate’s woodland, farmland and historic parkland that stretches towards the spectacular North Norfolk coast, each drive offers exceptional sport. A two-course lunch for the guns and up to six guests will be served in The Temple, a striking Palladian folly situated in Obelisk wood within the Park, and on completion, tea will be available in the Hall.
Buy a ticket today for a chance to win this superb prize. The shoot will take place on a date to be mutually agreed by all parties during the 2027 / 2028 season. Tickets for this very special day cost £100 and the draw will close on Monday 14 December 2026. The winning ticket will be drawn on Wednesday 16 December 2026.
The winner of the draw must ensure that all guns hold a current insurance policy providing cover for not less than £10m in respect of accident, death, injury or damage to any third party, and public liability. All guns must also hold a current shotgun certificate/overseas visitors shotgun permit, with the names of any inexperienced guns notified in advance. Only cartridges with biodegradable wads may be used. Transport for the guns around the shoot will be provided.
