Baroness Mallalieu honoured by World Horse Welfare

Alliance President Baroness Ann Mallalieu was a finalist in the Sir Colin Spedding Award, made yesterday at the National Equine Forum in London.

The Award, named after the founding chairman of the Forum, is given to an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the equine world.

Ann was nominated in recognition of her outstanding service to the equine sector, including serving as chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Horse and for successfully steering the Control of horses Act through the House of Lords last year.

She was runner-up, along with the Hon Walter Gilbey of the British Show Horse Association, and received a certificate from the Princess Royal, who is president of the National Equine Forum. The award was given to Sue Martin, who runs the Trent Park Equestrian Centre in London.
