Casting for Recovery feature on BBC Northern Ireland

Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland (CfR) featured on BBC Northern Ireland's Home Ground programme on Saturday 5th May to explain how the sport of fly fishing is helping women who have or have had breast cancer.

Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland is run by The Countryside Alliance Foundation, the charity set up to increase access to the countryside and to use it for education, fun and therapy. It works on the simple truth that fly fishing is wonderful therapy for those recovering from breast cancer.

Home Ground features Sue Kidby, Dorothy Sellers and Cathryne Boyes from CfR who explain how the programme takes ladies on a two day residential retreat where fly fishing tuition is part of a packed itinerary that also includes counselling, relaxation and medical advice. The beautify retreats also help the ladies build confidence, make new friends and perhaps learn a new skill.

This lovely feature captures all that is fantastic about the work CfR does. To watch the feature please visit the link here (from 14:16-21:50).
