Charles Jardine's London Marathon blog: Week 3 - old friends, mud and extreme yoga

Fishing 4 Schools' founder and director Charles Jardine is running the London Marathon on 23 April in aid of the initiative - you can sponsor him on Just Giving.

Here's his weekly blog: "Things haven't always gone to plan this week, but each time something's gone wrong something great has come out of it, so all in all, it's been good!

"Take Sunday – if you remember from last week I was off to the Countryside Alliance's Point-to-point at Badbury Rings to rattle my fundraising tin. Unfortunately I never got into the Alliance stand because I didn't have the right badge, but I bumped into a former colleague who now works with youngsters who are at risk of ending up in the prison system. Her work has a number of similarities to that of F4S, so we shall definitely be meeting up again to discuss anything we can do together.

"Then I was due to meet up with the Hale Hurriers for their weekly run in the New Forest – however the weather was so awful that Midge (my dog) and I were the only ones to turn up! But it was brilliant – just me and the dog in the great outdoors, it was wet, muddy and smelly but fabulous – absolutely the reason you run!

"So I ran around 5k on Sunday and about the same again on Wednesday night and I also have done an hour and three quarters of extreme yoga! It got me into places I don't think my body has ever been before – plus lots of planks and core work. We're starting to get here and Midge is getting fit too!

"We are now half way to my fundraising target – thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who's donated so far!"
