Meet the brave riders taking on the Aintree Racecourse in aid of The Countryside Alliance Foundation

The annual Aintree Countryside Day Charity Flat race, which is due to take place on Sunday, 24th October, will be held over 1m5f around the famous Liverpool course. It will be followed by a champagne reception and lunch in the Golden Miller Suite, Earl of Derby Stand.

Each of this year's brave amateur jockeys are racing in aid of The Countryside Alliance Foundation, for which we are very grateful. Amy Morgan

Amy hunts with the Heythrop but grew up in the former Vale of Aylesbury country (her mother, Jane Vowles is master of the Kimblewick) where she met her husband, well known countryman, Gary Morgan. Amy works for a firm of land agents looking after farms and estates. In addition she is an organiser of The Cotswold Cup, a hugely popular series of unaffiliated horse trials which take place at six different venues, culminating in the championship at Gatcombe. Amy has been riding out at Ben Pauling's yard and has been focusing on her fitness in preparation for Aintree. Her five-year-old son Henry will be coming to Aintree with his grandparents to cheer Mum on.

Annie Mania

Annie - who hunts with the Berwickshire where in the past she whipped-in to husband Ryan, has two children aged one and three - packs an enormous amount into her day. After she has ridden out several lots for her stepfather Sandy Thomson every morning, Annie runs her own company producing a delightful range of embroidered bags and other items littlebagcompany.com which she operates from home. Annie, who will be riding her own horse in the race, has experienced passing the winning post in front when she won the hunt race at her home point-to-point. She has an excellent tutor in husband Ryan who she says is responsible for her riding in this year's race.

Helen Westmorland-Nicholson

Helen Westmorland-Nicholson is a personal fitness trainer and lives in the Lake District with husband Michael who hunts the Coniston Foxhounds. Helen has a gym on the farm where she looks after patients recovering from serious illness as well as more professional fell and marathon runners. Helen loves her eventing but has taken time to recover from a serious fall competing a year ago and this race has been a target for her to get back to full riding fitness. However, she has proved that she has done exactly that, emerging from the fitness test undertaken by all our jockeys with top marks.

Ellen Jones

Ellen Jones whips-in every Saturday to the Teme Valley, following in the footsteps of her mother who whipped-in to Roy Savage for many years. In the daytime Ellen is training to be an accountant through a wealth management firm. A farmer's daughter, Ellen will be riding a horse provided by Sheila Lewis where she has been riding out regularly in preparation for this race.

Arthur Owen

Arthur is racing secretary and handles owner communication for trainer Tom Dascombe. He took on the role in May and was previously working for Hazelwood Bloodstock where he was involved in prepping yearlings for the sales - one of his charges was famously sold for £3.6m. Arthur has spent time in Australia working in bloodstock management, but despite being heavily involved in the bloodstock industry, being in the driving seat will be quite a change for him. Arthur hunts regularly with the Wynnstay and was put forward for this race by Richard Tyacke, a former joint-master who is now a director at the Hunting Office.
