Shadow Minister to attend Countryside Alliance event at Labour Conference

The Countryside Alliance will be joined by Shadow Minister for Exiting the European Union, Jenny Chapman MP, at the Labour party conference later this month to discuss how Brexit can work for the countryside. Ms Chapman is Labour's spokesperson for Brexit issues relating to environment, food, and rural affairs.

The panel of speakers will also include senior MP, Helen Goodman, Tobias Phibbs from the Fabian Society, and the former head of the Britain Stronger in Europe campaign, Will Straw, together with Countryside Alliance Head of Shooting, Liam Stokes. The discussion will be chaired by Jerome Starkey, Countryside Correspondent at The Times.

The Countryside Alliance's fringe event will be an opportunity to discuss what principles and priorities should underpin our approach to the negotiations, and how Labour can help to ensure that rural communities thrive outside the European Union.

The event is taking place on Monday 25 September from 12:30-14:00 in the Hilton Brighton Metropole (inside the conference secure zone).

More details about the event can be found on our party conference homepage.
