Take part in Somerset's Ye Olde Bait Challenge and raise money for Fishing for Schools

It's time to get your entries in for Ye Olde Bait Challenge, a charity fishing match in aid of Fishing for Schools on Saturday (17 June) at Durleigh Reservoir, Somerset.

This is one occasion where grey hairs may be an advantage as, although all fishing methods are welcomed, no modern baits will be allowed in this Americana match, where pairs will fish together on the same peg.

F4S south west instructor and organiser Ray Jones said: "This is fishing as it was 30 years ago!

"We hope to have a really fun day and to raise some money for F4S in the South West at the same time."

Fishing for Schools works with a number of schools in the local area, offering courses leading to the Angling Trust's Cast Awards.

Ye Olde Bait Challenge will run from 11am until 4pm, with the number of sections depending on how many turn up to fish.

Entry fee is £40 per pair, but this money will be reallocated in prize money, so the more who take part the bigger the prize pot.

Entrants will be asked to collect sponsorship money for Fishing for Schools and there will be raffle with great prizes.

To take part, contact Ray Jones on 07756 035804.
