World Fishing Day is coming up - will you be taking part?

World Fishing Day takes place on Saturday 23 June and Fishing for Schools (F4S) and Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland (CfR) shall be taking part. Will you?

World Fishing Day aims to bring anglers from across the world together, showcase fishing to new people and show the wonderful benefits of our sport.

World Fishing Day is being coordinated by Fishing TV and will feature a 24-hour live fishing broadcast from a network of community fishing events across the UK and further afield. Cameras have already been out with the F4S team in Kent and CfR and F4S director Charles Jardine will be live on the day, fishing on the Itchen with Fishing TV presenter James Stockoe.

Make sure you follow the hashtag #WorldFishingDay to keep up-to-date with all the latest news and if you will be fishing that day make sure you upload your pics and video to social media with the hashtag #WorldFishingDay to help make fishing massive across the world for one great day!

Charles Jardine commented: "The Countryside Alliance Foundation [which runs F4S and CfR] is delighted to celebrate World Fishing Day 2018. It is such a fantastic way to introduce more people to the sport. One of World Fishing Day's aims is to get more young people involved which is why Fishing for Schools is thrilled to be involved. All the ladies that attend our Casting for Recovery retreats talk about how therapeutic and relaxing fly fishing is for them and we hope that this day makes more people aware of the wonderful benefits that fishing offers."
