The 2026 Warter Priory Charity Clay Shoot in support of the Countryside Alliance

29 October, 2025

Warter Priory, the world-class shooting estate set in the heart of East Yorkshire, is hosting its annual two-day charity clay shoot on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May 2026, followed on Saturday 16 May by the extremely popular ‘High Tower Challenge’. That evening there will also be the Bushbeaters’ Ball, with dancing to the Ordinary Men. Over the last 10 years, this renowned annual event has raised a significant sum for a number of organisations, with over £205,000 raised for the Countryside Alliance in 2024. The Alliance was also one of the two beneficiaries of this year’s Charity Clay Shoot when an exceptional £300,000 was raised.

Warter Priory is primarily a shooting estate. In order to safeguard our field sports, especially in the present political climate, they believe that the Countryside Alliance, as the leading campaigning organisation dedicated to ensuring a future for field sports, should again be a beneficiary of next year’s Charity Clay Shoot and Fundraising Ball. The proceeds will therefore be split 50:50 with Warter Priory’s other chosen charity, the Special Reconnaissance Regimental Association. This is a small military charity which provides financial support to former and serving members of the Regiment and their immediate families at a time of need.

As before, there will be up to 60 teams of eight (four guns and four loaders) shooting a total of seven stands, one of which will be a pool shoot, each day. The price per team is £1,600, and this includes hospitality and refreshments throughout the day, a champagne reception followed by lunch and an auction of some truly special lots, many of which would not be available on the open market. All 12 and 20 bore shotgun cartridges are provided. Additional non-shooting friends and guests are most welcome to join each day at a charge of £100 per person.

The High Tower Challenge on Saturday 16 May is open to anyone, regardless of whether attending the Clay Shoot or Bushbeaters’ Ball. There will the opportunity to shoot 30 clays from two towers, with the prize for the highest score being a day’s shooting for one gun on a 500-bird day at Warter Priory, worth £3,800. The entry fee is £50 and there is no limit to the number of times one can enter. Timings are 9am to 3pm, and refreshments will be available.

This will be the main fundraising event for the Countryside Alliance in 2026, and we are incredibly grateful to the Warter Priory Estate for once again choosing the Alliance as one of its joint beneficiaries. Places are filling fast, so if you would like to be part of what promises, once again, to be a thoroughly memorable and enjoyable event, please don’t delay.
