Warter Priory, the world-class shooting estate set in the heart of East Yorkshire, is hosting its annual two-day charity clay shoot on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 May 2027, followed on Saturday 15 May by the extremely popular ‘High Tower Challenge’ and Bushbeaters’ Ball, with dancing to the Ordinary Men. Over the last 10 years, this renowned annual event has raised over £1 million for a number of organisations, with more than £550,000 having been raised for the Countryside Alliance over the last three years
Warter Priory is primarily a shooting estate and in order to safeguard our field sports, especially in the present political climate, they have once again decided to make the Countryside Alliance a joint beneficiary of the 2027 Charity Clay Shoot and Fundraising Ball, along with the Special Reconnaissance Regimental Association who were also a beneficiary of this year’s event. The proceeds will therefore be split 50:50 with this military charity which provides financial support to former and serving members of the Regiment and their immediate families at a time of need.
As in previous years, there will be up to 60 teams of eight (four guns and four loaders) shooting a total of seven stands, one of which will be a pool shoot, each day. The price per team is £1,600, and this includes hospitality and refreshments throughout the day, a champagne reception followed by lunch and an auction of some truly special lots. All 12 and 20 bore shotgun cartridges are provided and additional non-shooting friends and guests are most welcome at a charge of £100 per person.
The High Tower Challenge which involves shooting 30 clays from two towers is open to anyone and it will take place between 9am – 3pm on Saturday 15 May. The entry fee is £50, with no limit to the number of times one can enter, and the prize for the highest score is a day’s shooting for one gun on a 500-bird day at Warter Priory, worth £3,800. Refreshments will be available.
This will be the main fundraising event for the Countryside Alliance in 2026, and we are incredibly grateful to the Warter Priory Estate for once again having the Countryside Alliance as a joint beneficiary. To book a team, please contact Amy Willcock: amy@warterpriory.com / 07398 864764. Tickets for the extremely enjoyable Bushbeaters Ball on the Saturday night are £85 per person, and these can again be obtained from Amy Willcock.
