Warter Priory Charity Clay Shoot breaks all records

12 June, 2025

This year’s Warter Priory Charity Clay Shoot, High Tower Challenge and Fundraising Ball which were held from 15 – 17 May raised the most staggering £300,000 which was split 50:50 between the Countryside Alliance and the other chosen charity, The Clocktower Foundation.

Over 1,000 people attended over the two days of the clay shoot, with 120 teams competing, the highest number to have ever done so. The High Tower challenge on the Saturday, with the chance to win a peg on a day’s shooting at Warter Priory was also highly popular, as was the Bushbeaters’ Ball that evening, which saw 350 people dancing the night away.

Having been the beneficiary of last year’s Charity Clay Shoot, which raised an amazing £205,000 for the Countryside Alliance, we were incredibly grateful to have been chosen as one of the two joint beneficiaries of this year’s event – the first time that Warter Priory has raised money for the same charity two years in a row. They did so because being primarily a sporting estate, they felt that preserving, protecting and supporting our countryside, especially in the present political climate, was more important than ever.

The importance of the funds raised by this annual charity clay shoot raising cannot be overestimated, and an enormous thank you must go to the Warter Priory Estate and all those that so generously gave their support, whether through sponsorship, entering a team, donating auction lots and prizes, or bidding so enthusiastically for those lots.

This was, once again, the Countryside Alliance’s main fundraising event of the year, and it was one that also provided a marvellous opportunity to talk to so many people who were committed to shooting and other rural pursuits, adding even more value to this amazing three days that all those attending enjoy so much. The £150,000 raised for the Alliance will be of huge importance given the numerous challenges facing the countryside and the rural way of life, and we are enormously grateful to Warter Priory for their support.
