We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the folk at The Tackle Box, the Dartford based mecca for specialist anglers - a treasure trove of leading brands and their own superb designs, which we use within the Fishing for Schools family. We are so glad to have the support of such a prestigious company and we know that young people will benefit hugely. The Tackle Box is supporting the delivery of Fishing for Schools sessions at St Catherine’s Catholic School, a 11-16-Girls’ Academy in Bexleyheath.
The Tackle Box said: 'This will be our fourth year of sponsoring the local activities of Fishing for Schools, something we are pleased to be a part of. It is with pleasure that we continue this year by supporting an all-girls school. Angling has always been widely regarded as a male orientated sport, but over the past decade more and more women and girls have taken it up, so when St Catherine’s School in Bexleyheath applied for consideration, we jumped at it. Angling has major benefits toward mental health, male or female, so the more people we can encourage into the sport the better.'
Fishing for Schools Director says of the partnership: 'For almost 40 years the Tackle Box has been my source of inspiration…the Peet brothers and everyone connected, have been the information, advice and kindness that an angler craves…to have this amazing group of people then endorse my passion – Fishing for Schools - is an absolute dream. Thank you is wholly inadequate! But…Thank you Tacklebox!'
We are delighted to work alongside the Institute for Outdoor Learning, the professional body for organisations and individuals who champion learning through outdoor experiences. Through its commitment to raising standards, supporting practitioners, and promoting the benefits of outdoor learning, the Institute helps ensure more people can access meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom.
For nearly 20 years, Fishing for Schools has demonstrated the positive impact that outdoor learning can have on young people. Through angling, participants develop confidence, resilience, wellbeing, and practical life skills in a supportive outdoor environment. These experiences help young people engage with learning in a different way and discover what they are capable of achieving.
The values at the heart of the Institute for Outdoor Learning closely align with those of Fishing for Schools. By encouraging learning, personal development, and wellbeing through outdoor experiences, we are helping more young people connect with nature, build essential life skills, and benefit from the opportunities that the outdoors can provide.
