Michael Gove amongst speakers at CA events at Conservative Conference

The Countryside Alliance will be hosting a breakfast discussion meeting at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester with Defra Secretary of State, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, and Countryside Alliance Chief Executive, Tim Bonner.

The 'Brexit Breakfast' will be an opportunity for Tim to question the Secretary of State about the principles and priorities that should underpin our approach to the negotiations to leave the EU, the future of domestic policy, and how the Government can ensure that rural communities thrive outside the European Union.

The event is taking place on Monday 2 October from 08.15-09.30 in the Midland Hotel, Manchester (inside the conference secure zone).

The Countryside Alliance will also be hosting an event on the future of wildlife law. Animal welfare consultant, Jim Barrington, and the writer and philosopher, Sir Roger Scruton, will be discussing the principles that should underpin our approach to wildlife policy outside of the European Union and how this can be delivered in practice. Leaving the EU provides the opportunity to review our approach to wildlife law and develop a sustainable wildlife policy that is appropriate for the UK, and which balances protection with the need for management.

The event is taking place on Tuesday 3 October from 12.45-14.00 in the Midland Hotel, Manchester (inside the conference secure zone).
