Tim Kneale updates us ahead of Shooting World Championships

Last weekend (Saturday 30 – Sunday 31 August) saw the last round of Great Britain selection shoots and British Champion title at the Nuthampstead Shooting Ground. Isle of Man shooters Tim Kneale and Jake Keeling were both in action. This was the last domestic competition for both shooters and before Tim travels to the World Championships in Spain later this month as part of the three man British Team.

Saturday saw the first of two Great Britain selection shoots over the weekend. Jake Keeling showed some good end of season form by making the six man final but couldn't quite manage convert this into a top three medal position.

Following the traditional BBQ and games that evening there were a few stiff competitions for the Sunday event where the Great Britain selection doubled up with the British Grand Prix also.

Tim shot nice and consistently over the first 120 targets to leave him in contention posting 27 and above however a disappointing last round of 24 had left an opportunity for the British title to slip away. With the weather deteriorating Tim's final score was enough to take the title and place him in the 6 man semi final.

Following a 29/30 in semi and a head to head medal match for the gold Tim claimed the win at the last selection shoot of the year and maximum Great Britain ranking points.

Tim has spent a lot of time working with his technical coach, Martin Barker and sport psychologist Amanda Martindale. Tim is currently spending a few extra days at Nuthampstead before flying to the World Championships in Spain as part of the three man Great Britain Team to challenge for the first of the Olympic Games quota places for the Rio Games in 2016.
