Countryside Alliance meet IFA to discuss development of new Underkeeper Apprenticeship

Sarah Lee and Liam Stokes from the Countryside Alliance Policy and Shooting teams attended a meeting at the new Institute for Apprenticeships (IFA) to discuss the development of the new Underkeeper Apprenticeship on which the Countryside Alliance is leading.

The meeting was exceptionally positive. The Institute for Apprenticeships seems to have streamlined the development process, and the Countryside Alliance team felt they really took onboard the unique needs of the shooting sector.

Everyone involved agreed that the new apprenticeship offered an opportunity to create a qualification that really worked for employers and new gamekeepers. The next stage will be to finalise the content of the apprenticeship standard, which lays out everything an apprentice will be expected to learn, before moving on to develop the industry's chosen assessment methods.

The Countryside Alliance would like to thank all the employers who have contributed to this process so far.
